San Antonio’s premier and longest-running Día de los Muertos celebration, Muertos Fest at Hemisfair, is a vibrant, multi-day festival that’s FREE and open to the public!
The celebration begins Friday, October 23, with ¡Presidente! “A Night to Remember,” featuring an evening of altar viewing, including sensory-friendly hours from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The festivities continue Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, with more than 80 altars, five stages of live entertainment, two processions, the Muertos Mercado, workshops, food, and more.
Named one of the “7 Best Fall Festivals in the USA” by National Geographic and featured on Food Network’s Carnival Eats and CBS Saturday Morning, Muertos Fest brings together traditional Día de los Muertos elements with a vibrant celebration of local art, food, live music, and entertainment. Highlights include a multi-stage lineup of live music, dance, and poetry; San Antonio’s largest open altar exhibition; the Muertos Mercado, a curated marketplace featuring original Día de los Muertos crafts and artwork from local artisans; enhanced drum and dance processions; workshops; children’s programming; and more.
