Explore the Parks at Hemisfair

Hemisfair is a community with residences, local businesses and three public parks in the heart of San Antonio. Redevelopment efforts are designed to transform a vacant space left over from the 1968 World’s Fair into a vibrant, active urban parks district, reintroducing people and a neighborhood back to the downtown core.

Yanaguana Garden

Open to the public since 2015, Yanaguana Garden at Hemisfair is a beautifully landscaped outdoor wonderland for kids and adults of all ages and abilities. Kids dig in the Sand Play area and cool off in the Union Pacific Railroad Splash Pad. Adults play ping pong or cornhole over drinks in the shade. Adaptive play equipment allows wheelchair users and little ones to join in on the playground fun. In the evening, Yanaguana Garden is lit up with artistic colors, inviting diners to stroll toward one of the lively outdoor eateries.

Civic Park

With opening expected in 2023, Civic Park will be the grandest of Hemisfair’s park series and an uncommonly beautiful urban greenspace in the heart of San Antonio. From culinary festivals to live music, community celebrations of all kind will fill the calendar. The park will offer enriching and captivating experiences that draw people together and strengthen our community. Whether it is a large-scale event, pick-up Frisbee game or a lounge chair in the water, there will truly be something for everyone at Civic Park.

Tower Park

Slated for construction in 2023 pending funding, Tower Park is the third and final phase of the Hemisfair urban park series. Located on the eastern side of Hemisfair near the Tower of the Americas, Tower Park will be of the same exceptional caliber as Yanaguana Garden and Civic Park. All three areas will complement one another and unite to form the reimagined district that is Hemisfair.
