The Love Letter by Chris Fonseca

The Love Letter by Chris Fonseca

This love letter carries three layers of meaning, each rich with its own story.

First, it’s the letter I wrote in 2022 to secure a home for my family, competing nose-to-nose with investors blindly buying up properties. My only leverage was a “human connection” — reaching out directly to the homeowner with my vision and hopes for positively impacting this great city and neighborhood. After four years here, I feel I’ve fulfilled that promise.

Second, it’s a love letter to the people I’ve met in San Antonio. I’ve learned so much about art simply by watching other artists thrive in this city. I’ve also deepened my understanding of my Mexican heritage and my roots in the Chichi Meca tribe.

Third, it’s a love letter to the world. Through symbolism, I wanted to tell the story of our past, present, and future — reminding people that the ancient wisdom of our ancestors remains relevant, no matter how much modern systems try to erase our truths.

We are distinct.
We are one.
