La Semana Alegre Returns to Hemisfair April 23-24 as an Official Fiesta® San Antonio Event

Two nights of live music, food, art, and activations benefiting the Hemisfair Conservancy

La Semana Alegre returns to Hemisfair on April 23–24, 2026, marking an exciting milestone as the festival’s first year as an official Fiesta® San Antonio event. The two-day celebration will once again transform downtown’s Hemisfair District into a lively party in the park, raising funds to support the Hemisfair Conservancy and its ongoing stewardship of one of San Antonio’s most important public spaces.

As one of the newest official Fiesta® events, La Semana Alegre offers a two-night, ticketed concert experience in the heart of downtown.

Building on the legacy of the original La Semana Alegre, one of downtown’s most beloved Fiesta-era music festivals, the modern revival has quickly reestablished itself as a can’t-miss downtown event for music fans and Fiesta-goers alike—blending nostalgia, culture, and community in the heart of the city.

The 2026 edition will feature two stages of live music, along with food, art, and immersive activations across Hemisfair.

Thursday, April 23, 2026 – 80s Night at La Semana Alegre

Thursday night opens the festival with a celebration of 1980s new wave and pop, featuring Men Without Hats, Bow Wow Wow, Tommy Tutone, and Animotion. The lineup delivers a night of familiar hits, danceable favorites, and throwback energy to kick off the final weekend of Fiesta® in the heart of downtown.

Hometown favorites Girl in a Coma, New York punk outfit Surfbort, original La Semana Alegre legend Joe King Carrasco, mypilotis, and more will keep the party in the park going on opening night.

Friday, April 24, 2026 – Friday Night at La Semana Alegre

Friday night closes out the festival with a strong mix of indie, electronic, and Latin-influenced acts.
Austin-based Ghostland Observatory headlines Friday with their signature electronic rock sound and crowd-driven light show.
54 Ultra, coming off a recent sold-out San Antonio performance, returns with his modern blend of synth, rock, pop, and soul. Also performing are Los Retros, known for their dreamy indie-pop sound, Grammy Award-winning La Santa Cecilia, Mexico’s Son Rompe Pera, known for their marimba-driven punk energy, and local bands Chavela and Pop Pistol.

Together, both nights reflect La Semana Alegre’s commitment to genre-spanning programming that celebrates San Antonio’s musical past, present, and future. Visit LaSemanaAlegre.com to see the full lineup.

Food, Drinks & The La Semana Alegre Market

Throughout the weekend, festival-goers can enjoy a wide range of food and drink options, from Fiesta® classics like chicken-on-a-stick and gorditas to sweet treats and savory local favorites. Ice-cold Modelo, the official beer of La Semana Alegre, cocktails, Big Red, aguas frescas, and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.

The La Semana Alegre Market returns with a curated mix of local, music-forward artisans and vendors, offering vintage finds, handmade goods, art, and unique merchandise from San Antonio-based creators. The market adds another layer to the festival experience, giving attendees plenty to explore between sets.
