21,000 People Fill Yanaguana Garden Opening Weekend
posted by Hemisfair Staff on
Attendance to the Yanaguana Garden grand opening weekend October 2-4 brought topped 21,000 visitors, Hemisfair Park Area Redevelopment Corporation (HAPRC) is reporting.
Visitors to the park came in all ages and from all over San Antonio. While many of the visitors came from the surrounding neighborhoods, HPARC staff reports speaking to locals from Devine to Bulverde and nearly every place in between. Park goers were seen climbing on new play equipment, running through the splash pad, playing in the sand pit and taking part in activities like morning yoga, kite making and bi-lingual storytelling.
Also present were the future tenants of Yanaguana Garden. Revolucion Coffee + Juice served cold-pressed juice, juice cocktails and coffee, while Con Safos wowed San Antonians with their Original Pan Dulce Burger, fried hominy and aquas frescas. The OK Brewery served samples of their hand-crafted beer all weekend long, and Paleteria San Antonio had crowds swarming their bicycle cooler for a taste of their artisanal treats.
Yanaguana Garden is now open to the public everyday from 7am until midnight. HPARC board and staff are thrilled by the turnout and look forward to many, many years of delighting San Antonians at Hemisfair.
